Sponsorship
Sponsoring a horse provides commercial opportunities for businesses to promote their company and products by way of advertising. The Sponsor can advertise their name in a number of ways to ensure promotion at the racecourse. Your brand can be seen in full view of the public and television cameras in the following areas of a racecourse: any stabling area or horse box; in the pre-parade and parade rings; on the race-track; in the winnerís enclosure; and in any other saddling area. The means by which logos can be displayed are as follows:
• Branded attendant's clothing - jackets, sweatshirts, pullovers
• Branded horse clothing - rugs and sheets
• Branded jockey colours - on the chest, collar and breeches
A contract has to be signed by the Owner and the Sponsor agreeing the terms and conditions; this must then be registered with Weatherbys. The contract can then proceed 28 days after it has been published in The Racing Calendar. The sum of money due for each sponsorship is agreed between the Owner and the Sponsor, who is asked to pay for their company logos to be displayed on the attendantsí and horseís clothing, additional to the Ownersí own colours. Eastbury Cottage Stables is currently sponsored by Systems by Design plc as part of the Lambourn Trainers Association. However individual sponsors are welcome.
